Pastiche In The Diche – Anatomy of Clipart

This 1994 piece is one of my oldest intentional pastiches in digital art, designed to pretend to be highlighting the anatomy of digital clipart. It doesn’t depict a fish—it depicts the idea of a fish as a clipart object, complete with textures and assembly logic. The image playfully suggests how such graphics are “served” in digital editing, without irony or caricature. It’s a visual essay on the nature of digital representation, where every shape and fill is a deliberate choice. The title itself is a linguistic twist, echoing the playful spirit of the work. This is not just a fish—it’s a conceptual dissection of digital art.
