  • Red outline with black nodes

  • Oval shapes in structured pattern

  • Technical sketch art

This image could be a technical drawing of a mechanical or structural component shown in two views. The main view displays a series of interconnected black oval shapes with a red contour line tracing the outer edge. Black squares are positioned along the red line, possibly marking key measurement points. Dashed red lines and arrows indicate dimensions or alignment guides. A smaller solid black silhouette of the object appears in the bottom right corner, offering a simplified representation of its overall shape. The signature SDL is visible in the image.

L-Ink – The Anatomy of a Vector

L-Ink is a pastiche of precision. Based on one of my earliest icon doodles from 1993, this image pretends to be a technical drawing, complete with nodes, measurements, and alignment guides. But it’s not a blueprint—it’s a visual essay on the nature of vector art. The image highlights the deliberation and calculation behind digital drawing, even if the values are purely aesthetic. It’s a formal pastiche, emphasizing structure without substance, and yet it carries high artistic value. This piece is a tribute to the process itself, to the invisible logic behind every curve and click.

It is in fact a pastiche of pastiche, featuring the essence of what the pastiche does: featuring.
