Digital artwork divided into three vertical sections, each depicting stylized face-like forms. The top section features a smoky, blurred face with dark eyes and mouth. The middle section is more fluid and abstract, suggesting transformation or motion. The bottom section shows a clearer face with vivid blue eyes and a red mouth, rendered with sharper detail. The image has the artistic signature SDL.

Night Bride – Faces in Flux

Created in 1994, Night Bride is a study in visual paradox and character design. It features a single face that morphs into two or three identities depending on which features are emphasized. This early experiment in 2-in-1 portraits laid the groundwork for my ongoing exploration of chimeras and mythopoetic figures. The Night Bride herself is a creature from my literary universe, The Old Land. This image has served as a shadow composition in other works.
